Classes / Na Raggné

Registration is now open for the Fall 2010 term.

Classes are held at Norfolk St. United Church, 75 Norfolk St. There is parking along Cork St, and you should enter through the Cork street Church entrance (there is a Youth Drop-in Centre to the left).

Open to students of all ages, youth and adults, classes are an hour and a half long, and are small (under 10 students per class). Because classes are small, students receive considerable one-on-one instruction. Each instructor teaches somewhat differently, but usually tunes will be taught by ear, with written music (and sometimes recordings) provided as reference.

The Fall term is 9 weeks long - beginning October 14th.  Classes are held on Thursday evenings from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m., or 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The end-of-term celebration will take place Sunday December 12th at the Albion Hotel in Guelph. New classes (Tin Whistle II; Music theory) that have been added for the Fall Term will run for 9 weeks on Saturdays from October 16, 2010 until Dec. 11, 2010. Tin Whistle II and Music Theory will follow the same cost schedule for all other classes outlined below. The other new class added this spring, Advanced Irish Fiddle, will run for 9 weeks and will cost $260.00 for the term ($245.00 if paid and pre-registered before October 1, 2010).

The cost is $210.00. ($185.00 if paid and pre-registered before October 1, 2010). There is a 10% discount if an individual takes 2 classes in the same term.

There are no refunds after the first class. A 25% administration fee will be applied to all refunds.

For more information, or to register, please call Vicky Rao (519) 767-9933 or e-mail vickyrao@rogers.com
